USING BANANA LEAVES WHEN IRONING

One housekeeping tip that I got from my elders was to use a banana leaf when ironing. It seems that the iron will move smoothly if banana leaves are used. It appears that the organic wax from the leaves enabled the iron to glide over even the stickiest of fabrics.  I was also told that the leaves would also help to clean the stains from the iron.

my mum did that too, everytime she irons, she sent us looking for banana leaf. that time we used "charcoal" iron, which was very heavy.
