HERITAGE HOUSE, GOPENG

If you ever happen to be in a small, sleepy Malaysian town by the name of Gopeng, then may I suggest you pay a visit to the Museum and Heritage House. Gopeng Heritage House, which was officiated by Tourism Minister YB Dato Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen on 17th April, 2011 to coincide with World Heritage Day.  Wow!  I never realised that this date which also happens to be my birthday has been designated as World Heritage Day.
I had visited the Museum a couple of years ago and last Sunday was my first visit to the House.  For your information, the Heritage House belongs to the Muzium Gopeng co-founder, treasurer and main contributor, Wong Kuan Cheong.   This is the  latest building in Gopeng to be restored with the aim of transporting visitors back in time to have a glimpse of how life was when the Kinta Valley had the richest tin mines in the world.
I am posting the pictures taken at the ground floor of the House today.  Will post the ones on the first floor tomorrow.
