The Kuan Yin statue at the Pasir Panjang Temple is depicted holding a wu lou (calabash) in her left hand in which pours pure water. The pure or holy water is collected in a lotus shaped vessel made from what appears to be stone (or is it marble?). Devotees will use the water to wash their faces and hands or they will bring the water back with them. Most of the time, they do both. Plastic bags are provided for those who wish to bring the water home.
I have also seen one devotee parking collecting the water in a big mug and carrying it to wash his motorcycle which is parked nearby. It is believed that those who use the water to wash themselves will rid themselves of negative energy and they will be blessed by Kuan Yin.
