Yesterday was a historical day for the lecturers and students of the college that I now teach in as the first batch of Year 1 students for the college came for the registration. Previously it was known as Seri Manjung Vocational School but as of 1st January 2012, it has been upgraded to Seri Manjung Vocational College.
Pictured here are two of the Form 5 students. They will be the last of the vocational school students who will be sitting for the SPM examinations, after they leave there will only be college students. Here I am pictured with 3 of the students whose classes that I will be teaching English Language this year. They helped to welcome the new students during registration day yesterday.
Today the new Year 1 students start their 3 day orientation programme. This programme is titled "Mental Transformation Programme". Initially they are wearing the white shirts worn by students of normal day schools in Malaysia. Later they will be wearing the standard orange coloured Corporate clothing worn by vocational students in Malaysia.
