A year ago, Selina Jen who is one third of the popular Taiwanese girl group, S.H.E. was involved in an accident while filming. It resulted in her suffering third degree burns on 54% of her body. Selina who was initially supposed to marry her fiance Richard Chang in April had to postpone the wedding in order to undergo surgery and therapy.
It had been a very horrendous time for this young lady but with love and support from her fiance, family members and friends, Selina was able to make it through all the painful months. Though she is still not fully recovered and would never be the same as before, she has come a long way.
On 31st October, 2011 which also happens to be her 30th birthday, Selina and Richard were finally married. Instead of high heels, the bride wore sports shoes as she could not wear heels and she also could not stand for too long. Yet this did not detract from making her less beautiful or the day less special. Like most brides, Selina was glowing with joy and love. In her case, she was very certain that the man she was marrying was someone who'd stand by her through thick and thin, in sickness and in health.
Now this is the type of inspirational and motivational story that I like to read about. Like many people who admire Selina for her true grit, I wish her all the happiness in the world.
