WASHING AWAY NEGATIVE ENERGIES

My mum's younger brother, Jimmy attended the Wake and Funeral of his good friend's wife during the weekend.  My Auntie Linda was rather worried that Uncle Jimmy would have picked up some negative energies from the house of the departed soul and also the cemetery.  She said that Uncle Jimmy at 73 years of age was no longer young and therefore the yin or negative energy might cause him to fall ill or meet with some mishap.  Therefore, she said she was going to get him to take a bath with Pomelo leaves.  That would be what many Taoists would do after attending such an occasion.
Alternatively, one can also take a Salt Bath to get rid of the yin energy after returning from a funeral.  My advice is to take a Citrus bath.  That would be even better.  What I usually recommend to my friends is to get at least three types of citrus fruits, lemon, lime and kaffir lime.  One needs to slice the fruits and place them in the bath together with rock salt.  If possible add the leaves of the pomelo, lemon, lime and kaffir lime to make the infusion more potent.  Carrying out a Citrus Bath is believed to be able to help get rid of any lingering Yin energy or spirits before they decide to make our homes their permanent residence.
I have a habit of buying lemons, limes and kaffir limes and placing them at home.  I use them to make lemonade as well as for making Citrus baths.  Placing them in the kitchen also helps to absorb the negative energy.  Sometimes, I add them to the Floral Bath ingredients that I give to my friends.
I also use citrus fruits as offerings to the deities.   I do not give the fruits that I have used as offerings on the altar but will use those that I have placed on the dining table.
