When I went with Daniel to take photographs of the new MYVI two Fridays ago, he told me that he might just be moved to change his MYVI to a newer model. Well, I thought that he was just saying it at the spur of the moment and left it at that. One Friday later, I met Daniel when he was driving into school early in the morning. He told me that it would be the last time that he was driving his old MYVI car as he had already booked a new car from PERODUA and would be receiving it in the evening. I then asked if I could go and take photos of him getting his new car, and he said okay but not to publicise it in the school blog as he didn't want to make a fuss about it. I told him, I'd put the pics in my Xing Fu blog and he agreed.
I share with you pictures of the happy occasion when a driver receives his new car, a Perodua ALZA. See how delighted he was with his new darling. His mum and brother, Faiz also came along. And also ... his busybody neighbour. Me-lah!
To the Chinese, marriage, birth, birthdays, moving house, opening a business are all considered as Red Occasions or Hei Si. I wonder if buying a new car is considered as one? Anyone can help?
Here are two pictures taken when Daniel went to get his first car the red MYVI on 20 March, 2007. You can again see that his busybody colleague went along to take photos of the happy occasion. Aiyoh! How young and slim the two of us looked 4 years ago. Alamak! I must go on a diet after seeing my picture below.
