The willow branches that I got for my friend from the Mee Cafe were not the type that my sifu had recommended. Hence, it was not effective for my friend who still was burping after tried using it as a cure. Anyway, I went back to Ipoh to look for the Chinese willow and found three such plants in Tambun. Unfortunately, all the three Chinese Willows were located near cemeteries.
The Chinese believe that it is not advisable to pluck leaves or flowers from plants in such areas for fear that spirits or ghosts might follow them back.
Luckily for my friend, I found a Chinese Willow tree growing in the compound of a Sikh family in my mum's neighbourhood. The lady was kind enough to pluck some branches from her tree for me.
