TEMPE

One of the staff gave Kamariah 5 packs of Tempe this evening.  From her 5, she gave me 2.  For those who are unfamiliar, Tempe or Tempeh is  made from whole soybeans, which are softened by soaking and dehulled, then partly cooked. How to eat tempe?  Easy.  One can remove the banana leaf wrapping and then cut it into pieces, soak into brine or sauce and then fry.  Actually, one need not soak it into brine but can just fry it like that as well.
Before I forget, there is this belief that eating tempe can help one maintain ones youthfulness.  This is because tempe is made from soybeans which are extremely rich in aglycone, an isoflavone which is an antioxidant which also has human estrogen-like qualities.
