FLOWER WITH RABBIT EARS

Doesn't the petals sticking out from the red cone of the Costus plant above remind you of rabbit ears?  Yes!!!  That is why in the Year of the Rabbit, demand for the Costus Woodsonii, which is a species of ginger plant, has increased.
However, I must point out that not all the cones will produce only two petals.  Some will have only one petal while others have more than 2 petals.  There are some with no petals at all.
