THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

Me on Thursday night.  I was feeling giddy and worn out.  The stress of waiting to get the keys to my new house has gotten to me.  This was also coupled with finding more termites in the storeroom.  I had taken medication prescriped by the pharmacist which made me drowsy and sleepy, not to mention tired and weak.  I knocked off at 10 p.m.

I felt faint during Friday morning assembly and had to leave after the singing of the national and state anthems.  I went back to the library to rest.  Thank goodness I saw Kak Mah, the janitor, who offered to help relieve my giddiness by giving me a traditional treatment.
What Kak Mah does is to take some strands of hair and then pull them.  I could hear a 'pop' sound each time she pulled.  According to her, it would help release the 'angin' or 'wind' that is trapped inside the head.  I am sure that you would be able to tell that the treatment is painful by looking at the two pictures above.
Though Kak Mah's treatment made me slightly better and less giddy, I still felt ill.  I was running a fever and felt very weak.  I asked for permission from the principal to get treatment from a professional traditional healer.  My friend Haji Hasnin offered to drive me to the healer's house.  Haji Hasnin took this picture of me with the healer's grandson while I was waiting for him.  The boy's grandma is in the background.
The healer whom I call Uncle was pressing hard on one of my pressure points and I was obviously in great pain.  Painful though the treatment maybe but it is truly effective.  I went back to work after the treatment and everyone was amazed that I was back to normal.  Even my principal was surprised that I could recover so fast.

Me at a shop in Sitiawan buying ingredients to make Dadih for my students after school.  I was back to my normal energetic self.  Heh!  Heh!

Me on Saturday morning.  Back to my normal active self.  Ah!  The effectiveness of Chinese Traditional Therapy.  That is why I usually prefer to go for such treatment instead of eating medicines which sucks the energy out of me.
