ACKEE

This is the ackee fruit. The Ackee plant is native to Wset Africa. You can only eat the fleshy white part. Ackee is Jamaica's national fruit.  Only the inner, fleshy yellow arils are consumed. It is extremely poisonous in the very center if you eat the red bits.Though it may be poisonous when improperly prepared, ackee has high nutritional value and is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin A, zinc, and protein.
