LUNCH AT HOI SING RESTAURANT

Instead of going to 1919 Restaurant as we usually do, I treated my mum and aunt to a Mother's Day lunch at the Hoi Sing restaurant in Ipoh Garden. This restaurant is very easy to find as it is located right next to Court's.
I have been blogging about eating this past week and therefore it is obvious how I managed to increase my bulge.  Anyway, it is worth it as we got to try the food in a new restaurant.
Waiting for the food to come.  In the meantime, my mum and aunt ate the peanuts and pickled papayas which were the appetisers.
Enjoying the herbal chicken soup.
The delicious tasting soup came complimentary with the other 4 dishes that we ordered.
First dish was Tofu with one type of herb.  I forgot the name of the herb on top of the tofu.  This dish also got the thumbs up from all of us.
Second dish was Yau Muck vegetable friend with Nam Yu.  My Aunt and mum loved this one.
Third dish was crab meat cooked with egg white and broccoli.  Something different.  According to the captain, this dish was included in the Mother's Day menu as quite a number of mothers preferred food that are blander and also easy to eat.
This is the Butter Fish.  My mum said that it did not taste as good as that cooked by the chef at 1919.  To my aunt and I, it was okay but we agreed with my mum.
Auntie Linda finishing the last piece of vegetable.  She said that it is not good to waste food.  I paid RM73.90 for the meal.  Not bad, considering we had ordered 4 dishes and the soup was complimentary.  However, my mum was still adamant that nothing beats the food at 1919.  Point taken.  Next time, we will go back to our favourite haunt for special occasions like this.
