According to many Chinese elders, the CHING MINGperiod (10 days before and 10 days after the actual date) is not good for activities such as moving house or housewarming because it is believed tht during this months, ghosts might be wandering around.
However there are also others who believe that it is perfectly fine to move house and also to hold a housewarming party as long as the date is good. One good example is my mother's new neighbours in Ipoh who held their housewarming on Sunday, the 28th of March.
Below is a list of auspicious dates for moving house for 2010.
