CHERRY BLOSSOMS

A cherry blossom is the name for the flower of cherry trees known as Sakura in Japanese and this is the time when they begin to bloom.  I keep reading about the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan and feel so envious of those people who are in Japan or those who could go there to look at the beautiful Sakura flowers in bloom this year.  In Japan Cherry Blossoms as a symbol of beauty, delicacy, and the transient nature of life. The Japanese consider this flower as an omen of good fortune and is also an emblem of love, affection and represents spring.
As the cherry blossom is first to bloom in spring, to the Chinese it symbolizes rebirth and growth and are therefore a symbol of Life. In Feng Shui, Chinese flower paintings and Chinese floral art belong to the Feng Shui element of Wood. And therefore having a painting of Cherry Blossoms will bring wealth luck, health and longevity and positive development for those who hang it in their house.
