TURKISH EVIL EYE STONE

I learnt that there is an amulet from Turkey called Nazar Boncugu which is supposed to help ward off the evil eye from a Vasthu Sastra article by T. Selva.  Click here to read the article.
This Turkish Evil Eye Stone is known as the "nazar boncugu" in Turkish and is used to keep at bay the ills brought on by envious and greedy eyes or what is termed as the evil eye.   In many cultures, the Evil Eye is a look that is believed to be able to cause injury or bad luck on the person at whom it is directed for reasons of envy or dislike. The term also refers to the power, superstitiously attributed to certain persons, of inflicting injury or bad luck by such a look.

Besides giving protection, the evil eye bead is also believed to bring luck to all.

From information I read from the Internet, the Evil Eye Amulet is usually seen in the form of a flattened bead or hanging ornament  It is made by hand from coloured glass, and used as a necklace, or attached to bracelets or anklets. You will see concentric circles or droplet shapes on the beads.  It is worn by people and is also hung on cars, doors and used as handphone accessories.   In Turkey, it is common to give a gift of a blue nazar Boncugu (nazar boncuk) or the evil eye bead to guests. Sounds really interesting, doesn't it?  I wonder if I could get a Nazar Boncuk here in Malaysia.  Wouldn't do me any harm to have one?  In fact it would do me a world of good to be able to keep the evil eye at bay.
