You will get to see these crispy beauties during Chinese New Year time. They are simply delicious and sell for about RM14 to RM15 for a small container. The Nga Ku or Arrowroot when fried turns golden and to the Chinese gold is a symbol of wealth and auspice. Therefore to give these as presents to friends and relatives is like giving them 'gold'. If you know how to make them, then you will need to spend only a fraction of the money. A kilogramme of Nga Ku is less than RM3.00. If my memory serves me well, that would be enough to fill 2 containers like the one above.
