In the year of the Ox, Korean pretty boy, Kim Hyun Joong was riding high as he had a major role in one of the most popular hit series on television. He became wildly popular because of his role as Yoon Ji Hoo, the prince-like gentle soulmate for the female character in the show. Though he did not get the girl in the end, he won the hearts of countless others all over Asia.
However, as we approach the year of the Tiger, this 24-year old Tiger seems to have hit a low in the popularity stakes in his home country.
It seems that he has been receiving a lot of criticism, heat and hate for attending the birthday celebration of a very unpopular ex-president of his country by the name of Jun Doohwan. This particular president was one of Korea’s most hated Presidents who was believed by the Korean people to be responsible for a Massacre in 1980.
Kim Hyun Joong who had all this while been languishing in the love and adulation showered on him by his fans is apparently deeply hurt from all of the harsh criticism and hatred. It seems that he had accompanied the CEO of his company to one place but instead had to take a detour to another as the guy was the one who was invited to attend the birthday celebrations. This good luck thing is something very intangible. One might be high up in the clouds but the next one moment, one would be hitting the ground. Luck is so very fickle. Wonder whether Ji-Hoo Sanbae would be able to tide through this storm or would things go downhill for him in the year of the Tiger?
