The Malays believe that the Kaffir lime has some special qualities, like invigorating the senses during self-defence training. It is also used to chase away evil spirits. That is why the kaffir lime and its leaves are used for the special flower baths for getting rid of bad luck. In Malay, this is known as Mandi Bunga or Flower Bath.
