GIVING A HUNDRED PER CENT

In the above pictures, you see me at my workplace. Early in the morning, the librarians and I were busy redecorating the library and also getting ready to put up an exhibition for the lunar new year. Later in the day, I trained the new Form 4 students to sing the school song and other official songs for assembly. In my mind, I know that I have to give a hundred percent to what I am paid to do. In this way, I earn an honest living.
From a young age, I had been taught by my late father that I should give a hundred percent to all that I do. My father rarely took leave from work. That was why I rarely missed school as dad made sure I went unless I was very sick. I even reported to college on my own by taking a bus there while my college mates were sent by their family members. Why? Because my dad had to go to work. Even when I graduated from college and university, he did not attend as he said he had to go to school to teach. Mind you I was the best academic student in college the year I graduated and I also obtained a first class honours degree, yet neither my mum nor dad turned up.
I think my late father's discipline has been passed down to me. When I am sick, I usually go to school even if I have a terrible migraine. I just take my medication, wear my sunglasses and a cap and go to school. (The shades and cap are to shield me from excessive light as I become extra sensitive when I have a migraine attack).
Furthermore, I was also taught that we have to do an honest day's work for what we have been paid. If we do not do our work well or if we are lazy, then part of the money that we earn is not deserve. The Muslims refer to this as 'haram'. Therefore, we should always endeavour to give at least a 100% when we are working and nothing less. Before I forget, it is also said that if we are lazy or do not really do our work, then somehow we would have to repay the money that we were paid in one way or another.
