TIPS ON IMPROVING FINANCIAL PROBLEMS WITH FENG SHUI

Here are some Feng Shui tips that just might help improve ones financial problems.

  • Get rid of clutter from your life, your home, and specifically from these wealth areas. Clutter acts like a sponge and sucks up all of the positive energy in our lives. What is left is stale, sluggish energy that will restrict the flow of wealth in all areas of life, including money. Increase the positive energy by eliminating clutter so that you can find success and wealth.

  • Use wealth and prosperity symbols in your home decorating. Bamboo signifies luck in the Chinese culture and is appropriate in any room, who does not need or want a little more luck in their lives. Use whatever object you consider lucky as a decorative element for your wealth centers. For example, you could place a picture of your dream car where you could see it every day reminding you of where you want to be financially someday. This type of symbolic Feng Shui is said to help pscyhed (or brainwash) one into wanting to become prosperous and as a result act on it).
  • Do not keep broken items in your homes wealth areas, if you have anything in these areas that does not work, get them fixed immediately. These broken items could reflect negatively on your success. Rewire a light switch, fix a broken chair, change a light bulb, etc.
  • Show respect to your money and your financial affairs, do not take either lightly. Likewise, be generous with your time and money. The abundance that you show to others will be returned to you many times over.

Feng Shui Your Vision Boards and Make Your Dreams Take Off

A vision board is a powerful way to visually represent the aspirations and goals you have for your life with images. The images can either be pictures of what you would like, a house where you'd like to live, a car you'd like to drive, or can be a title you aspire to, such as writer, actor, president. People respond well to images. They inspire us in ways that words don't. Combining a goals list with a vision board is especially powerful.
In feng shui, when compass feng shui, flying star or another type of feng shui merge together, this is called "compounding" feng shui. The feng shui, because it's multiplied, becomes more powerful.
The simple act of writing out your goals is powerful and then to compound it with a vision board makes it more powerful still. Add feng shui to the equation and you have a vision board that can propel you to a whole new place. Are you ready for that? I mean, really, ready? Many people say they want something new, but new can be scary. Just be ready to move forward if you do this!Choosing symbols
Feng shui understands that symbols are influencers and important ones at that. When you are selecting symbols for your vision board, select symbols that are meaningful to you. That might include the number "13." Many people think it's a negative number, but if it's meaningful in a positive way to you, then include it.
Make your dreams take off
Heaven energy is very powerful for helping you manifest your dreams and desires. Heaven can be represented by balloons, airplanes, hot air balloons, rockets, stars, and clouds. The influence of heavenly energy can't be overstated. My own vision board features jets with my particular goals written on the side so I can watch my own dreams "take off." You can also use feng shui energy in the productive form to create your vision board.
Energize your board with productive feng shui placement
These are the principles that feng shui is founded on. Each aspiration is tied to a particular direction. Career is the aspiration of the north, health is the east, travel the northwest. Next, using the directions from the bagua, place the corresponding aspiration in the appropriate corner. Start with the north or career in the bottom middle of your vision board. Then moving in a clockwise direction, add the aspiration symbol for northeast in the lower left corner. This could be a book if you're a student, a deity for spirituality if that's your interest or any symbol of general wisdom.
The next corner is the left, or east corner. Place an image of health, a lush plant, a picture of a woman jogging or any symbol that is meaningful for health for you personally. Continue going around your board in this manner. This clockwise movement adds stimulation to your vision board, going from yin (north/water) to yang (south/fame/reputation) and back to yin again. This follows the productive direction of feng shui.
Spark of life
It's important that you have a spark of life in your vision board. It should appear vibrant, active, interesting. Place your most important image in the center of your vision board. This can be the central theme of your board if you like. You can then use symbols that support that central theme and still follow the directions of the bagua. Lastly, every item must be "energized" in order for it to imbue precious yang energy. To create this, simply add something red on your vision board. You could also loop a piece of red ribbon through your board or glue red paper to the back.
Make sure you place your board where you see it prominently and often. This will help to encourage you and keep you focused on what you want in life and where you want your goals to take you.

POSITIVE ENERGY

When some Chinese wish to buy or rent a house, they would sometimes bring along a small child to the place as a Feng Shui barometer. If the child starts to cry and become irritable, then it is not advisable to buy or even rent the place as the energy there is full of Yin forces. If the child smiles, laughs and plays happily there, then it is a sign that the place is suitable.
My friend, Baz, would sometimes bring her little daughter YaYa to the library after school in the evening and the little girl would play happily there. The same goes to the children of the other teachers. This goes to show that the place exudes positive Yang energy.

WAH SO MANY TYPES OF ZONG ZI

Look at the pictures of the differen types of zong zi that my friend, Lai Yoong, emailed to me. The Zong festival was on Thursday and I have not eaten any of them yet. I usually buy the vegetarian ones as I don't take chicken or pork. My aunt May will be coming back today and she says she'll be making some for me. Yessssss ...

WU CHUN: THE FINANCE KING

Pictures of Chun as a child and of him with his parents

An article about Wu Chun was published in a recent issue of Taiwan's Reader's Digest. The article revealed that this young man who will turn 30 on 10th October has already a string of business successes in his pocket. He started making money from his business ventures at the tender age of 15 and has kept on making money ever since with his good business acumen. The dream guy of many young girls, Wu Chun has opened 2 luxurious gyms, manages a world famous watch company, has 2 nutrient shops and is also representative of numerous the gym equipment in his own country, Brunei. So this pretty boy is not all good looks and killer bod. He has substance in the space between his two ears as well.

Besides that he does a lot of charitable work; something that his late mother had instilled in him and he is also a very filial son. He said, " My father will one day get old, I want to become the "mountain that he can depend on" for the rest of his life!"

What a killer cocktail - drop dead good looks, moderate temperament, smart, charitable and filial. No wonder he was in the top 4 in a poll about who is coolest lady 'killer". For your information, first place went to South Korean heart-throb Lee Min Ho who beat out Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame.

LUCKY CALABASH (WU LOU)

5 Stars for homey feeling says YaYa
Me and Baz in the library
More work has to be done for the national levels competition

In Feng Shui, the Wu Lou or Calabash is associated with health and longevity but for the resource centre of my school, it has proved to be an edge for us to become the Perak State Champions for the Resource Centre for Urban Schools Category. Yeh! The Wu Lou has become a lucky charm for my friends and I. We will next be representing our state in the national level competitions.

Two Education Technology Officers came to my school to judge whether the school resource would qualify to enter the national levels competition. The thing that attracted the two judges was not the infrastructure nor the variety of herbs in our garden. The thing that caught their interest were the calabash gourds in various stages of being dried.
I guess the calabash or wu lou is something that I am very familiar with and therefore the thought of it being the star attraction of the library never even crossed my mind.
For your information, the calabash or wul lou is an ancient remedy for health. In olden China the doctors or sinsehs would carry medicine inside so it has fabled properties for healing. The hulu is believed to absorb negative earth-based qi (energy) that would otherwise affect health and is a traditional Chinese medicine cure. Dried calabash is also used as containers of liquids, often liquors or medicine. Calabash were also grown in earthen moulds to form different shapes and dried to house pet crickets, which were kept for their song and fighting abilities. The texture of the gourd lends itself nicely to the sound of the animal, much like a musical instrument. It is a symbol of the Xian immortals.

EATING KERABU TO MAINTAIN YOUTHFUL APPEARANCE

One dish that Malay ladies like to eat is Kerabu. Why? Because they believe that eating all the herbs used to make the dish would help them to maintain their youthful appearance. This is most likely to be true as most herbs contain anti-oxidents which help to slow down aging.
Me? I have always loved eating raw food and kerabu happens to one dish that I eat often. Most of the herbs are taken from our Herb Garden. My friend, Baz, is shown mixing the ingredients of the kerabu after they have all been cut. For your information, the herbs used are the daun pecah kaca, bean sprouts, bunga kantan (torch flowers), long beans, bebuas, pegaga and daun kaduk. Anchovies that are pounded and fried are added to the herbs. Salt, sugar and lime juice are added and it is ready to be served.
By the way, besides helping us to look young, eating kerabu also will help to rid our bodies of wind. So don't be surprised if you start to flatude after a meal of kerabu.

ZONG ZI 粽子

Today is the 5th day of the 5th Chinese lunar month and that means it is time to enjoy Zong Zi or glutinous rice dumplings. I love to use the Chinese version as my Malay and Indian friends who visit my blog will learn some new words. My friend Khairiah now knows that Xing Fu means happiness and has even linked my blog to hers. So here is another new word she gets to learn.

The “Rice Dumpling Festival” is also known as “Dragon Boat Festival”. Usually the Zong Zi are bamboo leaves usually shaped into pyramids. There are some which are pillow shaped and squarie shaped as well. The main ingredient is glutinous rice. As for the fillings, one can use a variety of ingredients. I like the ones made by Aunt May the best as she puts in the ingredients that I like to eat and leaves out those that I don't. She will be going back to Ipoh with her grandchildren during the holidays and hopefully she makes zong zi for me. Yummy yummy.

CACTUS OMELETTE ANYONE?

Yup, you can make a dish out of cacti. I was watching a travel documentary on telly last weekend and saw the host being served cactus omelette when he visited Mexico. The ones that he was served were the Prickly Pear or Opuntia which I have growing in the Cactus Garden in my school.
Here is how one cooks the cactus ...
  1. First, slice some onions and lightly fry it.
  2. Then, slice the cactus.
  3. After that, add it to the onions. Cover and continue to the cook.
  4. The cactus is cooked when it changes colour from a vibrant green to the one shown in the picture above.
  5. Add three eggs to 3 cactus paddles (the pads or leaves).
  6. Mix well and continue to cook with the lid off.
  7. Add salt and it is ready to be served.

Hmmm .... shall I try the recipe as there are quite a lot of cacti in the garden.

FOGGING

When I reached home from school in the evening, the people from the Health Department came and told me to go out from my house as they wanted to fog the place. I guess that there must've been someone who had dengue fever of malaria for the people to come and do the fogging. Anyway, it is good as I do not want to be bitten by the mosquitoes.

A GLIMPSE OF THE FUTURE

Look at the pictures of Honda Fuzo. It is a futuristic design for a hovering concept car. Wow! Could it be a glimpse of what we will be driving in the future? I am truly impressed. I hope that it will be affordable in the not so distant future. I do not want to be too old to be able to drive such a car.

FEEL GOOD FACTOR

One of the feel good factors that a teacher gets is when students that she taught come and visit her. I guess that is one of the rewards one gets for teaching. This morning, 4 of my former students dropped by to visit me and they spent some time with me and also Tuan Haji Hasnin who taught them when they were students in my school a few years ago.

SOUPS AND THE FIVE ELEMENTS

The Chinese have a fondness for soups as they believe that all soups have medicinal properties. To us all soups are based on the Chinese Theory of the 5 elements and that different colours of foods and different taste affect the different organs.

Check out the elements and what types of food they correspond to:
  • Fire: foods that are red in color help to nourish the heart and help with blood flow

  • Wood: foods that are green help to detoxify the liver

  • Earth: foods that are orange and yellow help to nourish the pancreas and help with digestion

  • Water: Foods that are black in color help to nourish the kidneys and fortify the essence of the patient

  • Metal Element: Foods that are white in color help with the lungs

WATERMELON ART

Some people are very skilful with their hands. See what can be carved from watermelons.

FENG SHUI AWAY DEBTS

I feel sad each time I read stories of people losing their jobs because of the economic downturn and as a result they find it hard to make ends meet. Sometimes these people resort to borrowing from loan sharks or Ah Long as it is called in Malaysia. They end up with more debts and sometimes these people borrow from other loan sharks to repay the loans they got from the first one. This would result in a neverending vicious cycle. There are stories of some who have their houses burnt down for not being able to make payment. The worst scenario is that of individuals who decide to end their life because they are debt ridden.

I wonder if they ever even thought of using Feng Shui to help them put their finances in order. I do believe in what this ancient Chinese Science can do and am sure that given the correct practices, it is indeed a way to help one become debt free.

Read the article below that I downloaded from a blog titled, "Blogging away your debt". The writer mentioned that Feng Shui had helped improve his finances.

I’ve been debating for a while whether to discuss this subject or not. Some people have gotten hot under the collar when I discuss Feng Shui. But I believe the little changes I have done with my home has improved my attitude and made it possible for me to improve my financial situation.
When I left my job outside of the home, it was a job where a lot of people relied on me. I knew that I would have to give at least two month’s notice to ensure a smooth transition for my replacement. I knew I wanted to work at home, but at the same time I couldn’t just leave my other job with a normal two week notice.
So, I gave my notice at my job even before having another one. Things ended up pretty tight and looking a little bleak because I wasn’t finding work like I had hoped. You may think I am pretty upbeat now, but I wasn’t back then. I took a leap of faith and I wasn’t landing on my feet. If I started this blog back then, you would have been reading a very different blog. One that was very bitter in tone.
I came across Feng Shui and started reading about it. I began doing a few things around the home, like changing the arrangement of the living room and bedrooms and I started feeling better and my attitude improved. Then I started getting jobs. They were small jobs, but I was bringing in some money to help with the bills. I found myself feeling better about life and I felt hopeful again.
Now, there are things in Feng Shui that I do not do because I don’t understand the reasoning behind it. But, some things, like arranging furniture so you can see an entrance makes sense to me. Much of the reasoning behind furniture placement in Feng Shui involves making yourself feel comfortable and safe in your home. Feeling better about your home then can help improve your attitude overall.
As I often say, everyone is different. That’s what makes life so interesting and diverse. I have enjoyed how Feng Shui has improved the feel of my home but I know it’s not for everyone. But because it has helped my attitude immensely, which I feel was instrumental in increasing my income, I decided to write about it.

ADAM LAMBERT & QUEEN???

Wow! There has been this rumour going around that the famous rock group, Queen, is seriously thinking of offering Adam Lambert the post as their vocalist. If true then it is indeed a great offer but personally I'd like Adam to go solo. Maybe he'd just collaborate with Queen for a few numbers and leave it at that. But like me I should think that those who watched the finale would agree that he is a great successor to the legendary Freddy Mercury. By the way, "We are the Champions" happen to be a song I like very much.
