BRINGING CHRISTMAS CHEER TO CHILDREN OF WELFARE HOME

This afternoon, Lai Yoong and I brought Red Bean Soup to the children at the Rumah Wawasan Sitiawan or the Sitiawan Vision Home. We would visit the children once in a while to see how they are and also to chat with their caretakers, Miss Saundari, Uncle Sam and his wife. While we were there we got this idea to buy some presents for the 19 children and 3 adults. We are going to enlist the help of our friends and relatives to help contribute towards the presents which we will be giving them a few days before Christmas. Hopefully, those who are living in Sitiawan or in the Manjung area would contribute to our cause so that we can buy better presents for Li Ping (20), Jaya (9), Mei Mei (8), Angeline (16), Parames (17), Jasmine (17), Thachayani (15), Margaret (14), Shalini (14), Nandini (10), Sharvini (9), Darshini (10), Darshini (8), Nancy (8), Jensen (12), Davindran (12), Hoon Huat (10), Rogan (9), Melvin (8) and Harison Joe (4).

Here is the letter that I have drafted to enlist help and support from people we know:

Dear friends,

Lai Yoong and I got the idea of buying some Christmas presents for the children who are at the Sitiawan Vision Home. This is not the first time that we are doing social work at the Home. We held a tea party for the children in 2007, helped to organize an event to buy uniforms and shoes for the children in 2008 and also brought home cooked food regularly for the children at the home in 2009.
The both of us hope to enlist the help of our friends to contribute money so that we could buy presents for the 19 children and their 3 caretakers to bring some Christmas cheer to them.
We hope that you could help us to carry out our year end activity for those who are less fortunate than us.
