RIDDING A PLACE OF YIN FORCES

The gallery had not been in use for a few months as the teachers and students were busy with other activities and programmes. However, there will be students from two schools coming to visit and so my friends and I decided to do some spring cleaning there.
Many Asians believe that if a place has not been in used for some time then it might become inhabited by beings from the netherworld. In order to clear the room of the presence of too much Yin energy, the best thing to do is to open all the windows, sweep the floor and give the furniture a good dusting. Mopping the floor would be even better. Then switch on the fan to let the air circulate. Some people would even use a bowl of water infused with pomelo leaves and salt to sprinkle over the place as a simple cleansing ceremony.
