I saw this old man walking up and down the length of the row of stalls of the Farmer's Market near the Ipoh Stadium. He was carrying a donation box with a message to potential donors to contribute to a fund for orphans at an orphanage in Sungai Siput.I was told that some able bodied senior citizens volunteer to collect funds for orphanages as community service. I guess that they might feel that since they have so much free time in their hands, they might as well do something that is meaningful and beneficial to society.
Hmm ... hopefully, I too will still be healthy and able bodied when I am old and grey. Who knows? You might just see me walking around with a donation box for the orphanage in the distant future.
