MY MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL CELEBRATIONS

I went back during the weekend to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival with my mum and aunt in Ipoh. Actually our celebration is very low key. My mum would offer prayers to the house deities and the ancestors in the morning and then we would go for lunch at a food court.
I am too old to play with lantern and candles on my own since the little ones did not come home from Kuala Lumpur. We only went for lunch at a restaurant a day after the 15th moon to avoid the crowd. From previous experience, it would be filled with people and also the food would not be so nice as the chefs would be cooking for so many. Sometimes, the prices for the food are higher during festivals.
As usual, we would celebrate at the 1919 restaurant in Ipoh. The food is simply delicious and we are familiar with the management. It was Aunty Linda's treat as she got lucky and won a bit of money on Saturday. We ordered pineapple fried rice, kangkung fried with belacan, king crab tofu and sweet and sour fish. How much did it cost? RM58.90. The tea was on the house. By the way, the proprietor's daughter also treated us to free ice-cream. Hey! We are loyal customers - been eating there for more than 15 years.
