AWET MUDA

The guy standing next to me in the picture was an ex-student of mine. He is now working as a technician at the Pantai Remis PKG. He left school in 2000 which means that Faiz is now 26 years old.

I am definitely getting older and older as many of my students are now working adults. I actually met the wife of one of my ex-pupils during the web design course that I am conducting this week. I taught her hubby when he was in Standard 1 when I was fresh out from Teacher Training College. Now, he is 34 years old and a father of 4 young children. I was most flattered when the lady teacher told me that her husband said that he recognised me the moment he saw me as I looked exactly the same as when I taught him in 1986. In the Malay Language they always flatter someone who looks youthful by saying awet muda (preserve youthfulness). That indeed is a very big compliment! Hu Hu Hu
