PAYING HOMAGE TO LORD BUDDHA

The monks chanting on the eve of Wesak. The chants gave me and my mum a feeling of peace
My mum making a wish before bathing the statue of Buddha
Pouring flower scented water on the statue

My turn (actually I was just posing - I did the ritual earlier)
Lotus candles bearing the wishes of the worshippers
The statues of Buddha tied with string to the monks. I guess it is a way of transmitting the powers but am not too sure.
Flowers sold outside the temple
Offerings for the temple

Last Saturday was Wesak Day and Buddhists around the world paid homage to Lord Buddha. Besides the Buddhists, those of the Taoist faith also worship Buddha. My mum and I went to the temple on the eve of Wesak to pay our respects and also on Sunday. We did not go on Saturday as it would be crowded and I did not want to overstrain my mum and Aunt Linda (who went along with us).
