Feeling hot in our tropical climate? Want to go some place cold? Then I suggest you try booking into the ice hotel in the Alpha Resort-Tomamu's ice village in Shimukappu, Japan. This has got to be one of the coldest hotels in the world in which the dining room, bedroom and bathroom are all made out of ice. Even dinner is served on an ice plate. Room charges are at 80,000 yen (S$1,340) for two per night. Temperatures in Shimukappu range between -1 to -10 degrees celsius during this period. Oh! I forgot to mention that the hotel does not open the whole year round but only during the winter months.
