DECEIVED

The above picture is of a lady from Scotland named Susan Boyle, nearly 48 yet "never been married, never been kissed". She was one of the contestants of a TV show in England called, "Britain's Got Talent" in which the famous Simon Cowell is one of the judges.
When Susan first walked onto the stage, the audience were snickering and looked as if they had already thought that this middle-aged frumpy and ordinary lady came along for the fun of joining in the competition. I guess everyone was against her and expected her to do her worst. When she said that her dream was to be a professional singer, good ole' Simon rolled his eyes in disbelief.
Then when she started to sang the first few lines of the song I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables, everyone from the judges to the members of the audience were shocked and stunned. She had mesmerised everyone with her extraordinary voice and endeared everyone with her cheeky and charming nature.
In the beginning everyone had prejudged her by her ordinary, frumpy and unpolished looks but once she opened her mouth - the voice of an angel. By the end of her performance, Susan received a standing ovation from the audience and two of the judges.
How she looked had deceived everyone. One of the judges said that it was the biggest wake-up call for everyone to not be deceived by how a person looks. It is a real shame that a God given gift like hers was only discovered only now when she is turning 48.
Whether she wins the competition or not is not really of great importance as Britain and the rest of the world have noticed her exceptional talent and I am sure Simon would make sure that she is signed to his company.
