FENG SHUI FOR THE OFFICE

Most of us humans want to be successful in our careers, the more so in this trying economic times. Read the article by Kathryn Weber in which she gives 6 tips for career luck.

Create Office Luck with Feng Shui: 6 Ways to Boost Your Career
Everyone wants success.
Fortunately, feng shui can help you create the kind of energy and environment that invites success. Rather than fighting, scratching and crawling your way up the corporate ladder, by using feng shui, you can help smooth the way to career recognition and growth. Feng shui does this by removing obstacles and creating beneficial energy that makes you and all those who enter your office more comfortable -- and that creates good chi. Having good energy in your office will compound, too, and will help you to make strides in your career or business.
Try these tips for creating beneficial career energy in your office or business.
1. Sit in the power position.
This can't be overstated. Being in the corner opposite the door or with your back against the furthest wall will help you be "in command" of your career. If you sit on the diagonal, be sure to place a picture of a mountain behind you to help strengthen your support from behind. If you own the business, it's helpful to use the power position to locate your office within the building. Situate your office in the rear left of the right corner of the building from the entrance. This is the leadership position.
2. Symbols make friendly relationships.
Symbols such as the apple or round crystal ball placed in your office can help create beneficial and convivial relationships. If gossip is a severe problem, a picture or figure of a rooster will help to bring the talking to a halt.
3. Cover open shelves.
Sitting with open shelves in front of you, at the rear, or directly to the side is like sitting at the point of a dagger. These shelves emit strong energy that is harmful. At the rear, you will suffer from backstabbing and politicking. At the front, you will be undermined by colleagues directly. Cover the shelves with curtains, doors, or some kind of covering.
4. Career stalled? Declutter.
When you aren't making progress the way you would like, look around your office. Is there mess? Have you got piles of paper and stacks of books around you? Clean out your files, your computer files and your work surfaces. This will allow chi to flow in your office -- and your career -- again.
5. Activate with plants and water.
Plants bring growth energy to the office and vital dragon energy. Plants also absorb shar chi (negative energy) from all those hard edges in an office. Water is another activator that brings financial advantages. Even a small fountain is a wonderful, and relaxing, enhancer to create more growth in your paycheck. Be sure to keep the water clean.
6. Add metal for creativity.
No matter what kind of job you do or business you run, creativity is an important aspect. You need creativity for making advertisements, presentations, or simply finding new services to offer clients. Inspire creativity with a small metal object or a windchime. A fan is also a wonderful small metal activator that boosts creativity. With some fresh new ideas, you might just catch the eye of a higher-up for your ingenuity!© K Weber Communications LLC 2002-2009
