The Chinese believe that how your food is cooked also effects the quality of ones luck. In Malaysia, our staple food is rice and for the Chinese, they would orient the rice cooker so that its 'mouth' is facing the wealth direction based on ones personal Kua number. The 'mouth' is the place where the electricity enters the rice cooker. It is believed that the source of the energy that cooks the rice must come from the wealth direction, because it brings wealth (meaning the food) with it.
