The arrowroot
Frying the nga ku in slow to medium fire

Too brown
One of my favourite food for this festive season is the fried nga ku chips but they do not come cheap. On plastic container cost about RM15.00 and I can finish it within an hour. Since I like them so much and don't want to spend a small fortune to buy them, I decided to make them on my own. I learnt how to make them from my Aunt May a couple of years ago.
I bought the nga ku or arrowroot from one of the departmental stores which was selling them for about RM3.20 a kilo last week (but found out that the price has since gone down to RM2.88).
Believe me peeling, cutting and frying the chips take a lot of time and patience. Some of the chips turned out okay but some were slightly burnt. No wonder, they charge so much for the stuff. Anyway, the ones I fried can still be eaten and the RM5.15 worth that I bought could fill two and a half plastic containers. Not bad, eh!
