Chinese like to buy the lime plant 买吉for the Chinese New Year as they like the idea of being able to buy auspice to be placed in their homes. Every year, my mum does the same. Last year she bought one plant as it cost RM48 each but this year she bought two as each pots cost RM30.00 each. She will buy it from our regular vegetable seller in the market. During the New Year, he sells the plants and she has been his regular customer for years.
