My sister and her family phoned to tell me that the Singapore Flyer malfunctioned on Tuesday afternoon. A 173 passengers were stranded for six hours. They were later evacuated and given medical treatment in Singapore after the attraction ground to a halt at 4.50 p.m. It seemed that the flyer stopped working after a short circuit in one of the wheel's motor drivers cut its power supply.
There were 173 people, including many tourists, trapped inside the huge tourist attraction. Those trapped were winched down. How interesting! Sigh! If it had happened while I was up there on Friday, that would have been real adventure and excitement. My sister said if that were so, I would have missed the Fahrenheit concert but I wouldn't mind as being trapped in a capsule of the flyer would have been the highlight of my visit. Sigh!!! I missed the fun.
