We as human beings would not be immune from bad luck. Most certainly all of us would have experienced good and bad luck. Naturally, good luck is welcomed by everyone and bad luck is shunned. Actually, our luck most of the time is neutral and I guess that would be the most acceptable. Just in case, one finds that bad luck has been dogging him/her for quite some time, here are some methods used by the Chinese to neutralise it:
- Make a habit of contributing to charity. Doing charity is one way of repaying for bad deeds or old karma in the past. Charity does not only mean giving money or alms. It can be in the form of doing social work, visiting old folks home to make old people happy, feeding the orphans, helping to rebuild the homes of fire victims, sending recyclables to raise money and so on. One must remember that when we do good deeds, we must really want to do so out of the goodness of our heart and not for show purposes or because of selfish means.
- Asking for blessings from divine beings (depends on whatever faith one belongs to) is one of the best ways to overcome bad luck.
- I notice that some Chinese believe that releasing of imprisoned birds from the cage, releasing fishes or tortoises to the stream contribute to a life free of obstacles as well. But I do not agree with this as my late grandfather and father were of the opinion that if we do this, it would encourage people to catch these animals to be sold for the purpose of releasing them.
- Try to control your temper as the cause of bad luck is bad temper. It is believed that people who lose their temper frequently, would quarrel a lot and do a lot of scolding normally and they are the ones who would find themselves having bad luck most of the time.
- Also, try not to speak ill of others as doing so could also reciprocate bad luck. Therefore, be mindful of our words. Surely, you do not want to be zapped with bad luck because of badmouthing others.
- Take a saltwater bath to get rid of bad energy. Either go to the sea or prepare the water at home with "sea salt". Make you pour the saltwater over your entire body and when bathing, close your eyes and imagine a spot of bright light at our forehead and slowly suppressing all the dark energy downwords through the meridiens of our chakras as we bathe.
- Try sleeping early as this would help to create positive Qil Late nights are said to create bad or negative Qi. Having enough rest and sleep will stimulate good energy "Qi" within ourselves.
- Next, one could take a bath with 7 types of fresh, coloured flowers (sans the leaves and stems) to to cleanse away bad energy and bring you new fortune. Itis believed that a plant's energy is concentrated in the flower which is supposed to constantly absorb water and earth energy from the ground through its roots, and absorbs heaven energy from the sky through its leaves with the main purpose to produce flowers as its end result. When the flower blossoms, it is also exposed to attract only the good energy from the environment. Also the flowers must be as fresh as possible. The best time to take such baths is on the 1st and 15th day of the lunar month.
