FAHRENHEIT CONCERT IN SINGAPORE

I finally got to see Fahrenheit live in concert on 19 December, 2008 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Unfortunately, I was only sitting on the terrace as I asked for the ticket too late. My sister and I only got the tickets at 7.30 p.m. at the stadium on concert day. I think luck was not on my side as my brother-in-law only arrived back from Sabah on Friday afternoon and had to attend a meeting at around 4.30 p.m. If not, I could have asked if he could get permission for me to attend the press conference. Anyway, I am not complaining as I got a complimentary ticket to watch Fei Lun Hai and also I got to watch it with my sister, Li Lian.

It was not a sell-out concert as the place was only 2/3 full. At least half of the audience were aged 20 and below but then there were also quite a number of those who were middle-aged as a few elderly ones. So, all my fears of being the only adult was unfounded. Besides, Wu Chun's whole family and many of his friends also flew in from Brunei to attend the concert. I did not see them as I was sitting so far up.

My sister said that us not sitting near the stage was a blessing in disguise. Why? Because both our eardrums would have been damaged by the non-stop screaming of the teenage fans who had front seats. And we noticed that the girls were standing most of the time and if we had gotten stage side seats, we too would not have been able to have a good view unless we stood up for 3 hours - the duration of the concert.

I am actually very pleased that I managed to fulfil two of my 2008 resolutions at one go, that is, to see the boys perform live and to visit Singapore. Nevermind, if my brother-in-law's singing skill is on par with them but to me whatever they were lacking in the talent department, they made it up with their earnestness and sincerity.

The Chinese always say that if we attend a happy occasion and get to 'lau juat' (in the Hokkien dialect, this means to make merry) then we would have gained a lot of positive Qi. I am sure the loud screaming of the girls would have frightened off all the negative Qi and also exorcised all the unearthly beings. Besides, all the youthful energy and enthusiasm would have generated lots and lots of auspicious Qi or energy. So if you want to have a Qi charge-up, go attend a concert by a youthful band.
