WHERE TO PLACE BAGUA MIRRORS?

Today, Eric asked me if it was okay to place a bagua mirror inside his shop. I told him that as far as I know, these mirrors were meant to deflect or diffuse bad luck and were placed outside a building with the mirror facing outwards. The reason for his question was that a visiting feng shui 'sifu' from China came to his shop and suggested he hang such a bagua inside the shop with the mirror facing inwards. Anyway, I told him that I could not be a hundred percent sure and said that I would check up on the matter and let him know as soon as possible as the presence of the bagua in the shop might not be good for his business.

This is for Eric and my other visitors who would like to know:

Bagua Mirrors ( pa kua 八卦 ) are used in deflecting, diffusing or absorbing evil from the outside of your house, shop or building. It consists of a mirror, surrounded by eight trigrams. There are convex type and concave type. The concave mirror reverses sha chi (the bad stuff). Convex Mirror: The convex mirror "expands" positive energy.
The Bagua mirror is not to be used on the inside unless installed so it faces only outside. This means that it must be hung on a wall facing outside and not the wall facing inside. One is advised to place the bagua mirror out side of your main door facing the source of the Sha Qi or killing force, for example if the corner of a nearby building points at your home, or if your home is situated at the head of a T-junction, or if the road in front of your home is busy and there is heavy traffic.
Examples of common Sha Qi found in homes can include;
  • A large building or corners of a building.
  • Power lines.
  • A T-intersection where the road points at the home.
  • Ugly scenery.
  • Incorrectly positioned trees.
  • An offending pole or any sort of tower.
  • A roof line edge or any other kind of building or structure facing your front door.
  • An escalator pointing towards your business.
  • Infrastructures or landscapes in front of your home or business front door.
  • An electrical transformer opposite your home.
  • A cemetery, mortuary or undertakers opposite your home.
  • A situation where vandals or trespassers frequent your home or business.
  • Your desk is at the end of a long hallway, or you sit with your back to the entrance. This is the rare instance where a bagua mirror is placed on the inside of a building - on the wall you are facing so that the energy of anyone entering is reflected. But note that the bagua mirror is on a wall facing the entrance.

Bagua mirrors can also be used to counteract negative Qi of a spiritual nature such as evil entities. They are only used outside the house, office or retail business, and are mounted above the door or window with the mirror facing toward the offending object/"poison arrow". Never use a bagua mirror on the inside.
Tip: Place a bagua mirror above your front door to harmonise and create good fortune for all those that enter.
