In Chinese, the vase is called 'hua ping' 花瓶. The 'ping'瓶 as the same sound as peace 平 in the Chinese language. Therefore, if we place a vase of flowers at home (or just a vase), it would symbolise peace and wealth for the members of the family.
One must be careful as to where the vase of flowers is placed. If it is located at the peach blossom position, then it might activate peach blossom luck 桃花運 (tao hua yun). It might be good or bad depending on who gets the romance luck. For a single person, it would be most welcome but if a married person, then there might be trouble with third party interference.
