A few of the teachers challenged me to go on a five-day fast during the Ramadhan month and I was game for it. The thing is that I have to fast for five consecutive days without a break and they'd each give me RM10.00 so that I can use the money to buy food for the orphans at the place where our Big Ustaz is a member of. See that is my intention to go on the fast.
So far I managed to fast for one day. Honestly, I woke up at 4.30 a.m. this morning to eat two boiled eggs and drink water. Then I went back to sleep again. And I did not eat until my friend, Kamariah sent me a short message text to tell me that it was okay to do so.
Of course, I was hungry but I knew I had to go on. In the afternoon, I kept on blogging from 2.30 p.m. until 4.30 p.m. before I left the library. When I blog, I forget about everything else, food and drinks inclusive. When I left school at around 5.00 p.m., I stopped to play with Kelabu at the Guard House and then proceeded to the Ramadhan Bazaar to buy all the goodies for dinner. Believe me, I bought a lot of food. My friend Cikgu Daniel and his wife, Puan Umi, can attest to that for they saw me buying all the food.
I have another 4 more days to go and hope that there will be more teachers who'd support me by giving me RM10.00 so that I can add to the amount I'd get if I complete the five days.
For your information, so far those people who have pledged to give me money are: Puan Kamariah, Puan Khairiah, Puan Musliha, Puan Asiah Ahmat, Tuan Haji Ahmad Hasnin, Encik Faizal and Cikgu Daniel.
By the way, I fasted for 7 days last year (but not consecutively) and I got money to buy the oil lamps and the kerosene to light up the Herb Garden in the school. This year I thought of doing something a little more meaningful.
