The Opening Ceremony of the 29th Olympiad in Beijing, China will start at 8 seconds, 8 minutes after 8.00 p.m. on the 8th day of the 8th month of 2008. To the Chinese 8 is a very lucky number. I am sure almost everyone in Malaysia will know about this. After the opening, the world will be treated to a battle of global sporting supremacy with the athletes aiming to become "faster, higher and stronger".
I have already geared myself to watch as many of the disciplines televised on telly. I'll also encourage our students to watch the games in the library after school. After all this is the greatest games on earth and only happens once every four years.
See! I have already bought myself a set of Olympic Fuwa keychains.
