In one of my posts yesterday, I talked about how uncertain our future is. The wise Yoda once told Luke Skywalker that our future is always in constant motion and it would be difficult to tell what might really happen.
Well this morning my good friend and colleague, Grace, was busy doing up the library for the Flower Exhibition which will start tomorrow. At around 2.00 p.m., she told me that she had to go back home to get something printed as there was no publisher programme in the library computer and that of the office. She was also to bring the scrapbooks and photo album and some printouts on roses. At 4.00 p.m., she turned up and told me that she had received news that her brother-in-law had been admitted to the hospital in Ipoh and had required immediate surgery on his eye. It seemed that in the morning, he found that his vision suddenly became very blur and when he went to consult the doctor he was told that he has to be operated on tonight itself. Failing to do so he might lose his sight. Scary, isn't it? It also goes to show that life is so uncertain. A perfectly healthy man would need to go under the knife within the span of a few hours. Who would have thought that?
And I had to be resourceful in making do with what we had for the exhibition and also to invent some new things as all the scrapbooks, photo album and printouts were with Grace who had rushed to Ipoh. Thankfully, most of my librarians came and helped. The library teacher, Ustazah Roslina and my library assistant, Puan Asiah also did their share of the work and we managed to come up with something decent. I'll post pictures of the exhibition to show you tomorrow.
