SELF-RELIANT

My nephew, Jeremy, will be going to study at TAR college in May. He plans to buy a PC and in order to get it, he is working at TGV in Ipoh and also doing chores for me to earn enough money. He tells me that his dad is not going to buy the PC for him and neither am I. I told him that if he wants it that much, then he has to work for it. So each Sunday, he'd come over to my house and do chores for me like cleaning the house, washing the car and wiping the window panes. He also helps prepare powerpoint presentations for me plus type notes for me.

For your information, both Jeremy's dad and I are not trying to mean or stingy. We want the young man to be self-reliant and not be dependant on others. It is sort of a character building exercise. Hopefully, my nephew will be someone of worth in future.
