UPDATING FENG SHUI FOR 2008

Lup Chun is just two days' away and so tonight yours truly will be doing some Feng Shui update in my humble abode. In Ipoh, my mum has already done most of the adjustments earlier. She even moved her television set from the South sector of the house as that is the worst for the year. Those of you who have some knowledge of Feng Shui would know that it is on this day that the nine celestial stars or Flying Stars change positions. In Feng Shui terms, everything is in constant motion, nothing remains stagnant. There are constant changes around us every moment. This change applies to Flying Stars or Xuan Kong Feng Shui. There is a saying in Chinese about the Feng Shui of a place taking turns from auspicious to inauspicious and auspicious again through time.
Let's go back to talking about the nine celestial stars and their influences which can bring good luck to you or it may bring to your downfall. If we have knowledge about how to harness the energy of the good stars, then we will be able to enhance their energies to strengthen our prospects and at the same time downplay the negative energies emitted by the bad stars. Basically, we need to borrow from the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire and earth to strengthen or weaken a Flying star.
Before I start moving furniture around and putting enhancers and cures where they are supposed to be to empower or limit a star's strength, let me share with you what I have learnt so that you might also make use of the knowledge to do your own place.
CENTRAL PLACE - #1 White Star
This star brings with it positive vibes for education. Those sitting for examinations would do better if they choose to study at the centre of the house. To enhance study luck, place a crystal globe here.
This location is the third best wealth position and those using this sector may gain recognition at work and also gain the favour of the boss or those in a more superior position. To enhance career luck, place a brass Kuang Kung figurine in the central position. If you wish to have travel luck, then make sure you use the centre of the house more.
NORTHWEST - #2 Black Star
The sickness star will have flown into this sector on February 4 and it is best to not use this position too much. If living room is here then try not to spend too much time here. If it is a bedroom, then it is advisable to move to another room if that is possible.
WEST - #3 Jade Star
The argumentative star will be in residence here for 2008. To delimit the strength of this star, try using things that are red here.
NORTHEAST - #4 Green Star
The northeast is blessed with the arrival of the number 4 star which brings with it romance and education luck. Students studying for examinations should try to study in a room in the northeast. Those in the journalistic or creative fields would also do well if they use this sector more. If you are single and looking for romance, try enhancing the energy of the romance star by placing rose quartz hearts or crystal mandarin ducks here. In fact placing crystals here would also do the job.
SOUTH - #5 Yellow Star
This has just got to be the unluckiest sector for the year as it is visited by both the nasty 5 yellow and three killing stars. Remember to not use this place as much as possible and also don't have any renovation or any noisy activities here lest you accidentally empower the two nasties. Let it be known that should the sector be disturbed then mishaps like accidents, illnesses and other bad stuff would come avisiting.
NORTH - #6 White Star
The Grand Duke Jupiter of Tai Sui is in residence here for the Year of the Rat. Try not to do any digging or renovations here so as not to disturb the energy. If you wish for success in your career, then use more of this sector. You can also place a green dragon here to boost career luck.
SOUTHWEST - #7 Red Star
SW is not a good sector for the year as it brings with it problems in relationship and business. There is also danger of robbery for those residing in houses facing SW. Feng Shui masters might advocate using the coin sword or blue rhinoceros. But my advice is to invest in a burglar alarm for the home and to exercise care and caution to prevent theft and robbery.
EAST - #8 White Star
The best flying star for the year is in this sector. For those with main doors facing east, then they might be in for a very lucky time indeed. If you do not live in a east facing house, then you can use more of the East sector of your house to gain the maximum benefit from the positive energy emitted by this wealth star. There is not much you need to do here actually. By just using this sector a lot you will stand to gain.
SOUTHEAST - #9 Purple Star
This is the second luckiest sector after the east for 2008. Those who use this place a lot can gain investment luck, career luck and mentor luck. Those wishing to have a baby can also try using the southeast bedroom more.
What it really boils down to is to use more of the places that the good stars are and use less or not at all the places with the inauspicious stars.
Now, will you excuse me. I need to move my computer table to the centre of the house as it is at present in a room located in the south sector.
