MY "GRANDCHILDREN"

I showed you pictures of my pretty god-daughter, Nurin Wafa, in a previous post. Now, let me share pictures of my 'grandchildren' here. The cute little one with the pink headscarf is Nabihah and the little baby in the second picture is Siti Aisyah. Aren't both the little girls cute?
Aich!!! Grandchildren??? Where did Miss Cheah get the little "cucus" when she does not even have any children let alone a husband.
Wonder no more. These little ones belong to my former students. I taught them when they were in secondary school from 1996 - 1997. These girls have kept in touch with me and they send pictures of their children to show me. You must remember that a teacher is like a parent to the students that they teach. I am especially close to Siti Aisyah's mum and dad as I was the Form teacher for both of them. Through the years, both of them have been in constant touch with me from the time they left school, furthered their studies, did their training, got their first jobs, fell in love, got engaged, got married and finally giving birth to Aisyah. I am very proud of my students and they treat me like their mother and so their children are my grandchildren. To me being a teacher is just not only imparting knowledge, we have to care for our students and treat them as if they are our own children. If I am able to do that, then I think I would have done a good job. I still have quite a long way to go before I retire and there will be many more boys and girls that I'll teach. It is my greatest wish that all my students turn out right and that they lead happy and successful lives. Along the way, my "family" will grow.
