Yesterday was an auspicious date to put up the decorations for the coming Spring festival or Chinese lunar new year. I put up a red banner with auspicious wordings and symbols embroidered on it. I am sure that many other Chinese families would have put all the good-good stuff to welcome the year of the Rat. I see lots of decorative items with pictures of Rat being sold in many commercial places. The images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse can also be seen in many of the new year items produced this year.
