This year I celebrated my birthday in April with a few of my close friends. It was a simple celebration as it was the month of Ramadan and many of my Muslim friends were fasting.
My dear friend Spring's birthday is coming up soon and she asked me about auspicious rituals for the special occasion.
So I have listed a few below:
- Take a very special purification bath with sea salt and kaffir lime essential oil or 9 round peels from fresh oranges and “wash away” any inauspicious energies from your previous year and welcome the fresh new Qi (energy).
- Express gratitude to your parents for your life
- Visit your house of prayer and thank your God for the previous year and ask for blessings for the year ahead.
- Have a celebration feast including sweet cake (so your new year is sweet!) with wish-making candles
- Write down your birthday wish and put it in a nice box/container.
- Receive Lucky Red Envelopes with money inside.
