CHARCOAL FOR GOOD LUCK

This decorative piece of work is actually a blue peony painted on a piece of charcoal.  It was bought from an art centre in Ipoh.  I actually had two reasons for buying it.  First, it was for its aesthetic value.  Second, I wanted to use it as a luck enhancer for the Chinese New Year.
In Hokkien, Charcoal is called Tarn.  It sound like the word for 'to gain advantage' or to profit.  So to bring it in to the home would symbolically carry that auspicious meaning.
