ROLLING GOLD INTO THE HOUSE

One Chinese New Year ritual that I have been doing for years is to roll mandarin oranges into my home on the first few minutes of lunar new year.
This is symbolic of rolling gold into ones home.  In Chinese the word for mandarin oranges is kum.  This sounds like gold.  Furthermore they are also orangey which also symbolises gold.
