The Chinese have a lot of taboos during this month. First of all, one (especially children and those with weak lifeforce) is advised not to stay out too late at night for fear that ghosts might follow them home. Couples in love are also not encouraged to tie the knot during this month. Also try not to talk about ghosts at this time as they might be offended. It is also inauspicious to begin renovations during this period as all the knocking and noise might offend the ghosts. And, games that involve summoning ghosts and spirits are a NO NO.
