SIGNIFICANCE OF DECORATIONS FOR CHINESE NEW YEAR

This is the Chinese New Year corner for my house. It must be placed high up so the 2 cats can see but cannot touch. Huhuhu.
For the Chinese the Lunar New Year is a celebration marking the end of the winter season and the beginning of spring. This is why most decorations in Chinese homes include plants, fruits and blooming flowers. They represent the earth coming back to life and wishes for prosperous new beginnings.
